Essential oils

So we had two wonderful guest speakers that came to share Young Living essential oils. The speakers were Pat Brown and Tracy Griffiths, who were lovely and knowledgeable. Pat at one point had cancer and cured herself using the oils. She said the first time she used an oil it was the “Joy” blend, and she had a full body orgasm. And from then on, she was hooked. Who wouldn’t be?!

Tracy took classes with Pat and teaches full time using the oils. She practices cranial therapy. Her introduction was in 2002 when she had spinal menigitis and was in the hospital, very sick, with no energy, and not a good prognosis from her doctors. She remembered about the Raindrop Therapy that is performed using the oils, so had that performed on her. The very next day she got up and was feeling renewed. Wow. If that’s not a testament to the oils, I don’t know what is.

We went around the room, and as the women of WOW spoke, we noticed that almost everyone of us has been affected by cancer at some point, a family member at least. So that’s what many of us were hoping to learn about. Some came to learn how to destress or just for better health. The good thing about these oils, is everyone who uses them, talks about how it changed their life. Sounds like a good thing to me!

The reason the oils work so well, is they oxygenate the body, because they’re made from the original plant, so the body recognizes it. So it regenerates the blood on a new frequency. Cool! It also passes the blood stream and goes to the lymbic system in the brain, so it does more than a medication could ever do.

Pat addressed the spiritual journey of why cancer came into her life. She said you can’t just use the oils and get better. You have to search your soul and find out why this came into your life. Once you do that, you can be healed. She says using the oils changes your thought patterns, because as we learned, it affects the memory. So for her, she realized she got cancer because when she was a little girl, her mom couldn’t hold her. So when she thought back, and realized her mom was emotionally unable to, and it wasn’t because of who she was, then she was able to forgive her mom. And once she could do this, she was on her way to recovery. Two days after she was able to do this, her cancer had passed.

During the night, we were able to try several oils. They had us put them on our hands, smell them, but it on our head, on our heart point. They smelt delish! We tried Joy, Inspiration, and Courage. We also learned about the oils Forgiveness and Gratitude.

Recently, Anderson Cooper, the news reporter, had his blood tested, and found out there were 120 toxins in his blood. The doctors said if they did this test 30 years earlier, there would have only been 2 toxins in his blood. Wow! Something is wrong in our society and the way we live. And we need to take care of ourselves in a way like never before. The oils are one way to do that.

They had us drink peppermint and lemon oil in water that night. The next day, I had lost two pounds! I’ve been drinking it ever since, and I am at my lowest weight ever! I’m hooked! Plus it’s good for me, detoxes me. But the weight thing is what got me hooked!

Now the reason most oils are not as good, is they’re adulterated, so you can’t digest them. But Young Living oils have no pesticides and are toxin free. For instance, it takes 5000 lbs of rose petals to make 1 lb of oil. If this company doesn’t grow the plants themselves, he hand picks them.

They have a clinic in Ecuador. These people there are cancer free and alzheimer’s free! That says enough for me!

They talked about hormonal health is really key. It causes many of our diseases people get.

If you get ill, take out wheat and dairy from your body to make it more alkaline. This is what Chris Bledy talked about to get rid of cancer too. Also make your thoughts balanced. Get support from friends. That helps too! But doesn’t it always?

Thieves oil, was used originally during France when the Black plague was rampant. It is antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral. It alkanizes the body too. Lemon also alkanizes the body. See! That’s why I drink it every day now!

You can use the oils by smell if you want. This is how it passes the cognitive and goes into the limbic system, memory. It can clean and erase bad memories of DNA. We have emotional things passed down from our family member’s DNA too. DNA isn’t just brown hair or blue eyes, it’s bad memories too. So these oils can help with moods you don’t even know why you have them.

Young Living has emotional clearing classes. You put the oils on your chakras and it actually changes your chemistry. Gary Young, founder, learned this treament from a trip to Egypt. He was mysteriously guided by a guard to a secret room who told him this was the room he needed and wanted. He filmed the heiroglyphics in there, had them translated, and it had the recipes for many of his oil blends. Isn’t that amazing? The reason, is 500 years ago, they used oils because it’s all they had for health. But we’ve gone so far from that, that we’re polluting our body and causing it more harm. The more we get back to the pure form of health, the healthier we will be.

They also have weekly Monday night classes in Santa Monica. If you need the schedule, email me. They teach different uses for the oils every week. And they sold a book at the WOW meeting on the uses for all the oils. I use it regularly.

Donna Karan has created an urban zen initiative. She’s teaching people to go into hospitals with reikis and oils, and yoga. Some doctors are in the class too. And they are loving the information they’re getting. It seems our society is ready for this. They want this kind of knowledge. Donna Karan lost her husband to cancer, and this is her way of doing good.

Pat explained her experience with cancer. That there is a hierarchy. Cancer. Doctor. Lastly, her. She said it’s a power structure. And she didn’t let the doctor put fear on her. She was instead empowered by the oils. The more aligned we are, the most we trust in ourself. We are empowered.

Young Living has more than just oils though. They have toothpaste, shampoos, cleaning products, that change how you feel. Can use it to clean your kids’ toys even.

Another use for lemon and peppermint, is to increase memory by 53%. And peppermint also cools the body down. I use this on my son’s stomach when he was digestion problems. He loves it and begs for it when he gets a tummy ache. We’ve recently gotten a diffuser from Young Living, and I use RC, which is for colds and chest problems, associated with winter and allergies. And he makes me use it every night now, he loves it so much. He even told me tonight, “Mommy, I love my diffuser!” It’s probably just so calming and it smells so great. What a wonderful way to fall asleep!

We also learned about:

lavender- good for burns, and peace and calm

Peace & calm - Good for night rituals, helped girl who had night terrors

Citrus oils - for cancer

I also want to mention Ninxa Red, something we didn’t discuss that night, but is made of all essential oils and wolfberries. Wolfberries are the most potent food in the world. Better then Acai berry, better than pomegrantes. Which both are being tauted as miracle foods now. I take it every day. It’s really a miracle drink, and I wonder why more people don’t know about this. Now that I know about it, I feel like it’s a must have.

Well, that was the gist of the night. It was informative, inspiring, and smelt good! What more could we ask for? Turns out after our meeting, Pat and Tracy enjoyed our group so much, that Tracy has offered to try the oils on us at her house. So in two months we’ll have a meeting at her house. Can’t wait! More oils and we get to try them. Count me in!

So Chris Bledy, author of “Beating Ovarian Cancer” came to our group last night, and she was just so wonderful. Her story was inspiring and her energy so positive. Made me just want to keep her up all night to chat the hours away. But, instead, what we discussed in two hours…

That it’s very important to get rectal exams at the OB. Ouch! Ugh. I only like things going out of that spot. But, that’s better than getting cancer, right? So tell your OB to start checking your booty on your next visit. She said many cancers hide behind our ovaries and we need these exams to find them. Plus, if we start now, it gives our doctors a base on what to look for if something else wrong shows up. It will feel weird asking my doctor for a butt exam. But I guess I’d rather that than bad health.

Then Chris talked about how silent ovarian cancer is. Her symptoms: her period slowed down. And what else you may ask? That was it! She said others might have to pee more frequently. Still others might be more gassy. Uh, isn’t this all symptoms of getting older? No wonder it’s the silent killer. Yikes!

So by the time Chris was diagnosed, she was already in stage 4. And stage 4 is pretty much a death pass. And what happens with Ovarian cancer too, is you get it over and over, sooner and sooner, till finally you don’t respond to treatments and you die. Wow. Scary.

And 5% of ovarian cancers are genetic. The other 95% environmental. That is why we can do something to stop it from happening to us. So that’s the good news! Now, here’s what we can do, and what Chris did, so she is healthy now. 5 years and counting.

After her second occurrence of cancer, Chris decided to see what toxins were in her world. She decided to throw away all her non-green and toxic cleaners in her kitchen. She tells us to do the same. Says they seep into our house even if we think they’re not. Says we must convert to green products. Must! Get the toxic ones out of the house or throw them away completely. Even laundry detergent seeps through the skin.

She did an inventory of her products she put on her face and on her body. If you count how many things you use, from the shower, to washing your face, to deodorant, to toothpaste, to face creams, to make-up. We are putting toxins on, from the moment we wake up and just don’t stop. No wonder our bodies end up with cancers and other diseases.

She talked about soft water systems and how bad they are for us. Cause heart problems she said. A carbon-based water system is much better, but it’s for the whole home. So it costs a lot. But this way when you bathe or shower your body isn’t soaking in toxic water. Then there’s hard water, which has calcium and minerals, and associated with a longer life. But distilled water is a no-no! It leaches minerals out of your body. Very selfish water, don’t you think?

Then she talked about organic foods, which we all guessed were better for us, and our kids. She says it’s a must. Plus no hormones or antibiotics in foods. Plus she even talked about the stress on the animals that are getting hormones, and how that translates into food and it being toxic as we eat it. Who knew?

She mentioned Dr. Oz on Oprah, and how he talked about Blue Zones, where people lived longer. Most of them ate little meat, or mostly fish, or were vegetarian.

She then talked more about getting the toxins out of your laundry detergents, your make-up, your shampoos, etc. You’d be surprised at how toxic most things are that we put on our body, not just in. If you want to look up your beauty products, please go to ewg.org This is the website that got me into this health direction any way. Once I found out that most of our beauty products, toothpastes, shampoos, were toxic and carcinogenic, I couldn’t stop looking up ingredients. I was mortified to find out that the FDA does NOT care if we are poisoning ourselves. Since then, I have found that they are being paid by most of the companies that the FDA is supposed to be protecting us from. Kind of ironic, don’t ya think? And kind of scary. If they’re not going to protect us, then I guess it’s up to us.

Chris even mentioned the dyes on things like toothpaste or advil. And how hard it is for our body to process it. And why put a dye there any way? We don’t need it. And if it’s toxic, then what’s the point?!

She mentioned the creams she was using on her face, that she’s found to be non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. They’re from the rainforest. And the man who created them, John Easterling, gives the indigenous people the knowledge on how to grow these products without destroying the rainforests. Plus the products raise money to go back into supporting the rainforest. Plus Jacques Coustou’s son is giving this man props for what he’s doing for the rainforest. And he’s very environmental. Then, if you saw how young Chris looked. Wow! At least 10 years younger than her age. She’s having a pampering day at her house this Saturday, that all of us who were at the meeting are attending. Because Chris looked amazing! And she’s not poisoning her body. What a novel concept. If anyone wants to attend, just email me.

The website for the products are www.bledy.amazonherb.net

She also mentioned how she’s taking these NAC vitamins that keep the outside toxins, like pollution, out of your body. But she did mention they were pricey, and that the average person does not need to take them.

She talked about keeping your body alkaline-balanced to keep cancers away, and keep healthy. You can either eat a PH diet rich in vegetables, and keep away from acidic things like meat, white rice, sugars, etc. Or you can drink the alkaline waters. But some are very pricey. She did say you can just get PH drops for your water that are cheap and do the same thing. I think that’s in my price range! Because I do have a friend who has been telling me about Kengan water. And it costs $4000! I’m thinking, the drops sound good to me!

Chris also mentioned the importance of the cookware we used. Not to ever use non-stick. She gave the story of how her friend’s birds died from leaving the non-stick cooking on the stove for 10 minutes. They were all poisoned from it. And that’s what it’s doing to our bodies. She said the best is stainless steel. But it has to be 18/10 not 18/0. I saw that my Pampered Chef stainless steel is 18/10, if anyone wonders where to get that. It’s also good to use iron pans.

And she mentioned a man by the name of Adam Dreamhealer, who is healing people via energy. But she only touched upon that, so now I’m curious and have to look him up. Darn! Another project. Oh well. Such is the life of learning and becoming aware. Always another adventure. Always being led down another path. I guess that’s what so fun about this group and life. You just never know what will be next.

17  Sep
Aug Meeting

We discussed health this meeting. It was a small group, but mighty. No one took notes, oops! So let’s hope I can remember.

We talked about ewg.org, the organization that polices products that are harmful to us, that no one really knows is. Basically, from their stand-point, the FDA sounds useless. Look up your beauty products and see how many carcinogenics they say are in them. It’s frightening! Let alone your children’s products. It’s enough to make your head spin, and to make you switch products. It has for me.

Valerie came and brought Arbonne catalogues and talked about the benefits of using those products, saying they are natural and healthy.

We talked about the dangers of HFCS - high fructose corn syrup. Basically, it sounds SO bad, I’ve thrown out all out products that had it in them, and am checking before I buy anything to be sure it doesn’t. Yeesh! Some studies say it’s the cause of all the obesity in our country. That our body doesn’t know what to do with it, so also causes diseases, mineral loss, iron and magnesium loss, copper deficient, liver problems, etc.

Also, turns out non-organic corn, soy and wheat is genetically modified. Great! So eating HFCS is doubly bad. But that said, most products have corn in it. Most! But, since HFCS does horrible things to your body, and is genetically modified, it’s like, stay, away!

One study, maybe several, said it was so bad, it should be illegal! Okay, I will.

Then, we discussed cell phone dangers. I will bring that study to Sept’s meeting. But the short and the long of it, was that any child should NOT be using them. That their brain is too thin and absorbs even more harmful radiation. And basically, adults are better off not using either. One study said cell phones will be our generation’s cigarettes. That’s enough to scare me! I’m using it far much less. And am instead using my speaker blue tooth if I can help it. Cordless phones in the house are just as dangerous.

Deb said she could get us those things that you put on your phone to keep the radiation away, like using an antennae. I’ll be sure to ask her to bring her info for Sept’s meeting.

Well, I think that was all. Sept’s meeting will continue the health talk, the Wildlife Waystation, and we’ll be discussing how to follow our dreams! Sounds productive enough.

17  Sep
July meeting

We had a guest speaker by the name of Heather, who came from the Wildlife Waystation. She told us what they need to keep from closing down, and everyone was very excited to get involved.

We’re hoping our friends who work at studio will be able to ask about plywood for their animals who need better roofs, such as the llamas who need that right now.

Heather was going to ask about certain celebrities who could get involved in a charity function, like Betty White and Loretta Switt, in case they would show up to a function we hosted.

They really need sponsorship and have a wish list, which I hope to put on this site.

We talked about calling Animal Planet to see if they could get involved somehow.

They have a brunch for volunteers, at $150 a head and then you get to tour the grounds, because right now it’s not open for tours.

They could use a grant writer to help get more funds.

We talked about different events we could host. Biggest dream event would be a huge one at Warner Center Park. Heather could bring small animals, as she works with them there. Also talked about bake sales at schools to raise money. Or have a classroom donate.

Deb talked about hosting a xmas party at her house with wine and cheese. Black tie. Hors’ douvres. People donate wine for events. Deb knows or place that gets wine cheap. $100 to attend event. 50 people show up.

Did someone have a printer to donate? it looks like my notes say Mary is asking Jill? Don’t know. Oops!

Talked about doing a video with Alex, turning it into a youtube sensation. Then getting in on the news. Or get it viral to get people interested. Human interest stories. Put it on facebook too. Could turn it into longer video at an event.

Marilyn the founder of the place.

My (denise’s) mom’s friend’s daughter is a news reporter, could get it on the news?

Someone else knows Dorothy Lucy on Channel 11, call producer and get it on there.

Another member knows School of Rock kids, and could try to get them at a charity event, since it’s a family theme.

Silent auction. Brunch to Wildlife donated. Nokia tickets. Disney movies. Disney tickets.

Put video on Jen’s list. Or even talk about charity.

Grocery stores give old produce. But need people to drive it up. Trader’s Joe’s produce pick up twice a month.

orientation to volunteer. Heather will let us know.

It was a great meeting. And we were going to talk about other stuff. But people were so excited about this event, we never did. Sounds successful!

Meeting notes #2

Someone talked about a group in Tanzania and Kenya (we’ll have to find out who suggested this) that makes jewelry  and 10-20% goes to orphans in their countries.

Patty suggested Carmen Silva, a woman she knows, wants to host charity events at her home in the Palisades. Dreamcenter.org is her charity?

Auction ideas:

Denise plans to ask her unsuspecting husband about donations from the bands he works with or putting together a performance with them and money goes towards event.

Also talked to Liv, a member of WOW, to host an event at one of her art galleries. Liv said it would be no problem. And money raised would go towards charity of choice.

MORE magazine was suggested. It’s a great and inspiring magazine for women over 40. Laura Mercier was talked about in that mag, and it’s great for women of that age.

Jen’s List - she sends out emails about what’s happening in the community.

This week in the palisades.com advertising for local events.

Books recommended:

Infidel, Hotel Rwanda

Yoga groups for future causes. Louise suggested people she knows gives money for yoga classes and then they donate money to the cause. Andrew Behla, the band from our Darfur event, also has a friend who does mediations for events.
